While the technical challenges of the web remain a constant, my focus has shifted from optimizing servers to optimizing organizations for flow.
My background in Economics and UNIX Administration gives me a unique perspective on the web: I see engineering as a balance of efficiency, uptime, and performance.
My journey began solving high-traffic stability and speed challenges, leading to the founding of Synthesis, which was acquired by Copyblogger Media. There, I helped launch and manage three major platform initiatives: Synthesis, Rainmaker and StudioPress Sites (2017 Fastest Host). Following the StudioPress acquisition by WP Engine in 2018 (More on the acquisition 1 year in here), I spent 6 years building and leading cross-functional engineering organizations, most recently as VP of Engineering.
In July 2026, I chose to take a dedicated sabbatical to spend time with my family before my daughter began school. Fully recharged and ready for what’s next now, I’m looking for my next executive leadership role helping growing software companies scale their teams, tackle complex technical debt, navigate AI integration, and build for the future.
